On board the Crown Pearl between Copenhagen and Oslo

Copenhagen–Oslo is an ideal crossing for people travelling directly between the two capitals. However, the connection is also convenient for those from the surrounding regions looking for a departure point.

Although it might not be the most obvious choice, travellers from the UK can also use this crossing when travelling to Norway. The reason is the price.

The crossing from Copenhagen to Oslo is sometimes cheaper than the popular Kiel–Oslo route, which is often seen as quite expensive. Especially if you book late, as prices for the Kiel to Oslo route with Color Line can increase significantly.

Photos of the crossing

A Ferrygogo visitor who went on a winter sports trip to Norway with the family chose this crossing due to the attractive price and shared some photos from onboard:

Top deck on the Gotlandsbolaget ferry
Since Gotlandsbolaget took over the DFDS route, the funnel shows a new logo and color.
On sunny days, the pool can offer some refreshments. In winter and early spring, however, it's not filled yet. Scroll down to see what it looks like in summer.
Of course, you need to head to the top deck for a Sky Bar!
At night, the Sky Bar is closed, but you can probably imagine how lovely it must be here in the evening sun.
Commodore lounge
If you spend a bit more, you get access to the Commodore Lounge.
Sanitary facilities onboard the Gotlandsbolaget ferry
The sanitary facilities on board were clean!
Bar Crown Pearl
In the mood for a drink and some snacks? This is the place to be!
Late at night, passengers still hit the dance floor for a few moves.

Copenhagen–Oslo experience on board the Crown Pearl

The onboard experience was positive. The photos we received (taken late at night during a winter crossing) may not fully reflect what the crossing offers on summer days, but they give a fair impression.

Want to see what the crossing looks like in summer? You can check out the DFDS website (former operator of this route) which still offers a visual 3D tour.

DFDS provides a 3D tour of both ferries.
