Irish Ferries is the third operator on Dover to Calais, next to P&O and DFDS, and it prices its short breaks aggressively. A weekend in France with the car for under £100 return is hard to beat on this route. No code is needed: pick the short-break fare in the booking and the price applies.
In a nutshell
- 2-day short break: from £95 return Monday to Thursday, from £100 Friday to Sunday. Return within 2 days of arrival. Book by 28 December.
- 3-day short break: from £110 return, outbound on a Tuesday only. Return within 3 days of arrival.
- 5-day short break: from £147 return, any day of the week. Return within 5 days of arrival. Book by 25 December.
- Included: a car and its passengers.
- Conditions: book at least 24 hours before departure, travel up to and including 31 December 2026.
Our tip
Count your days carefully. The limit is counted from your arrival in Calais, so a Friday evening crossing with a Sunday evening return fits the 2-day fare. If you want a Saturday outbound, the 5-day fare at £147 is often cheaper than a standard return.
Our verdict
One of the cheapest ways to take the car to France right now. Compare sailing times and the three operators in our Dover to Calais ferry guide.
