Travelling to Gotland
If you're considering booking a holiday to Sweden, then Gotland might also be worth visiting. Gotland is located on the east side of Sweden in the Baltic Sea. It has a rich history of Viking tales, medieval city walls, beautiful nature, and fantastic scenery, and the city of Visby is a lovely place to visit. The coastline of Gotland also has a lot to offer, with great cycling routes and sandy beaches.
Gotland is also known as a foodie hotspot with many local produce and craft beer breweries. On the island of Gotland, there are 92 medieval churches and many more historical archaeological places to visit. (Gotland – where Viking-era history meets unique natural scenery, VisitSweden.com)
On Gotland, you should also consider taking the ferries to the smaller islands of this archipelago, like Stora Karlsö and Lilla Karlsö. And a trip to Gotland isn't complete without a visit to the island of Fåro.
- Stora Karlsö and Lilla Karlsö can both be reached with M/F Stora Karlsö.
