Stena Line is offering free child travel on selected UK-Ireland and UK-Northern Ireland ferry routes. Use the Stena offer code below when booking an eligible Economy or Flexi motorist fare, and kids aged 0-15 travel for free.
This is a handy family ferry deal if you are planning to take the car to Ireland or Northern Ireland. Pack the boot, bring the snacks, take the family pet if needed, and avoid the airport version of family travel – also known as queuing, repacking bags and pretending everyone is still having fun.

How the Stena Line Kids Go Free offer works
The Stena Line Kids Go Free offer is for families travelling by car on selected ferry routes to Ireland and Northern Ireland. When you book an eligible Economy or Flexi motorist fare and use the offer code KIDS, children aged 0-15 travel free.
That makes it especially useful for road trips where you want your own car on the other side. You can bring more luggage, pack child seats, scooters, coats, snacks, beach gear, walking boots and all the other things that somehow become ‘essential' once you travel with children.
Stena Line also highlights family-friendly onboard facilities such as food and drink, family cabins, shopping, Happy World for younger children, gaming areas for older children and Premium Wi-Fi packages on selected ferries. In other words: the crossing can become part of the trip, not just the bit you need to survive before the holiday starts.
Which Stena Line routes are included?
The Kids Go Free offer applies to selected Stena Line routes between Great Britain and Ireland or Northern Ireland.
- Cairnryan to Belfast: a practical short crossing for Northern Ireland road trips
- Liverpool to Belfast: useful if you are travelling from north-west England or prefer a longer ferry crossing
- Holyhead to Dublin: the main Stena Line route from Wales to Ireland
- Fishguard to Rosslare: a good option for south-east Ireland and onward travel along the Irish coast
For many families, the best route is less about the ferry crossing itself and more about the total travel day. Cairnryan-Belfast is the shortest sailing, Holyhead-Dublin is often the most obvious route into Ireland, and Fishguard-Rosslare can work well if your final destination is in the south or south-east.
What is included?
- Kids aged 0-15 travel free on eligible bookings
- Use offer code KIDS during the booking process
- Valid on new Economy and Flexi motorist bookings
- Valid for travel from 1 May 2026 to 5 January 2027
- Bookings must be made by 23:00 on 31 August 2026
- Available on Cairnryan-Belfast, Liverpool-Belfast, Holyhead-Dublin and Fishguard-Rosslare
- Stena MORE points may be earned and redeemed with this offer
What is not included?
The offer is for Economy and Flexi motorist bookings, so it is not a general foot passenger discount. It is also not valid for freight and cannot be combined with other promotional offers or discounts, including Tesco Clubcard Reward Partner codes.
As always with ferry offers, check the final booking price carefully. Kids may travel free on the eligible fare, but cabins, pets, Wi-Fi, food, upgrades, onboard extras and any fare differences can still affect the total cost. A ‘free kids' offer can still become a very real checkout page.
Economy or Flexi?
The offer works with Economy and Flexi motorist fares. If your dates are fixed, Economy may be the cheaper option. If you are not completely sure about your travel dates, Flexi can be worth checking because Stena Line allows booking changes without an amendment fee, although you still pay any difference in fare.
FerryGoGo verdict
This is a strong offer for family car trips to Ireland or Northern Ireland, especially if you are travelling with more than one child. The biggest win is simple: you can take your own car and pack properly, without airline baggage limits, airport parking, car hire queues or the small family drama of trying to make everyone fit into two cabin bags.
Our advice: use the code KIDS, compare Economy and Flexi fares, and check the full final price before booking. If the route and dates work for your trip, this can be a genuinely useful family ferry saving.
