Unlike most ferry operators, Red Funnel does publish a few real codes, but each one is for a specific group: electric car drivers, students and the armed forces. Other ways to pay less with Red Funnel
- Pick a quiet sailing. Car fares start at £32.25 one way on non-peak days. Midweek, Sundays, early mornings and late evenings are the cheapest.
- Stay longer with a full car. For a stay of four nights, the fare works out from £29.95 per person with four people in the car.
- Book ferry and accommodation together: 25% off the ferry.
- Book ferry and attraction tickets together: 15% off the ferry and up to 25% off the attractions.
- Families on foot: a Family Day Return costs £48.90 for up to four people including at least one child, and each adult can take up to two escorted children free.
- Railcards: through tickets by train and ferry are discounted with a railcard.
- Bikes: bicycles travel free on the vehicle ferry. The Red Jet only takes folding bikes in a bag.
For Isle of Wight residents
Residents get 15% off the vehicle ferry. Red Funnel also has a Healthcare Travel Scheme for NHS appointments, an Assisted Fares Scheme for residents on eligible benefits, and travel cards and season tickets for frequent travellers, with savings of up to 20%.
