Snap is how Eurostar fills its empty seats. On London routes you can book up to 14 days before travel. You pick a day and a time slot, before or after 13:00 from London, and Eurostar sends you the exact train at least 48 hours before departure.
In a nutshell
- Saving: up to 50% on selected journeys, compared with a standard ticket
- Routes from London: Paris, Brussels, Lille, Amsterdam and Rotterdam
- Booking window: up to 14 days before travel
- Train time: confirmed at least 48 hours ahead
- Luggage: the normal Eurostar allowance, but no bikes
The catch: Snap tickets are non-exchangeable, non-refundable, non-transferable and non-cancellable. If someone drops out, you can’t pass the ticket on. And a “morning” train can mean a very early start.
Our verdict
Good for a spontaneous city break when the time of day doesn’t matter. If you need a specific train, book a normal ticket early instead: see the London to Paris fares from £39.
