Ferry between Fishguard and Dublin
Travelling between the United Kingdom and Ireland from Southern Wales
Stena Line has launched a new route between the UK (Wales) and Ireland. Travellers can now sail directly from South Wales: from Fishguard straight to Dublin by ferry. Initially, this crossing appears to operate once a day, taking around 6.5 hours to cover the 100+ miles across the Irish Sea.
Itโs a great alternative to the Holyhead-Dublin crossing for those living in Southwest England or Wales. On the map below, you can see this route alongside the existing crossing from Holyhead to Dublin.

Worried About Seasickness?
If youโre prone to seasickness, itโs better to book the regular ferry.
- If unexpected rough weather occurs, here are the best places to sit to minimise seasickness:
- Sit near the middle of the ferry where movement is least noticeable.
- Avoid the front or upper decks, as these areas feel the most motion.
