Summer 2027 ferry timetables are out: what you can book now

Updated: 2 November 2026

If you are planning next summer by ferry, the western Channel is open for booking. Brittany Ferries has its timetable on sale up to 7 November 2027, Condor has published summer 2027 for the Channel Islands, and DFDS and Stena Line are running early-booking deals for 2027. We went through the timetables sailing by sailing to see what you can actually book, how often it sails in July, and what has changed since this year.

Summer 2027 in a nutshell
  • Brittany Ferries: all ten UK and Ireland routes are bookable for summer 2027
  • Cherbourg: about three sailings a week from Portsmouth, even in July, not daily
  • Normandy with a free choice of day: Portsmouth to Caen, about three sailings a day
  • Channel Islands: Portsmouth to Guernsey every evening; Voyager from Poole six days a week
  • Jersey with DFDS: Poole season starts 24 March 2027, with more sailings than in 2026
  • Early booking: 15% off DFDS 2027 crossings (book by 1 February) and 20% off Stena Line Harwich to Hook of Holland (book by 15 November)

Brittany Ferries: what you can book for 2027

Brittany Ferries’ current timetable runs through the winter and up to 7 November 2027. Most routes sail all year; the seasonal ones restart in March: Plymouth to Santander on 21 March, Plymouth to Roscoff on 22 March and Cork to Roscoff on 24 March 2027. This is how often each route sails in a typical week in July 2027:

RouteSailings a week in July 2027Ships
Portsmouth to Caen20, about three a dayGuillaume de Normandie, Mont St Michel
Portsmouth to Saint-Malo7, dailySaint-Malo
Portsmouth to Cherbourg3Galicia, Santoña, Wexford
Plymouth to Roscoff6 to 7Armorique, Pont-Aven
Portsmouth to Santander2Santoña
Portsmouth to Bilbao2Galicia
Plymouth to Santander2Pont-Aven
Cork to Roscoff2Armorique, Pont-Aven
Rosslare to Cherbourg4Wexford, Salamanca
Rosslare to Bilbao2Salamanca

Two routes are no longer in the list because they have closed: Portsmouth to Le Havre in September 2026 and Poole to Cherbourg in October 2026. Our guide to the 2026 closures explains the alternatives.

Cherbourg: three sailings a week, not daily

When Poole to Cherbourg closed, Brittany Ferries said a daily service from Portsmouth to Cherbourg would operate in its place. In the 2027 timetable that is not what we see: Portsmouth to Cherbourg has three Brittany Ferries sailings a week, also in July. If Cherbourg is where you want to land, check the sailing days first and plan the rest of the trip around them.

For Normandy with a free choice of day, Portsmouth to Caen is the route to look at, with about three sailings a day. For Brittany, Portsmouth to Saint-Malo sails every day. More about the crossing itself in our trip report on the Santoña to Cherbourg.

Spain: book the cabin early

The Spain routes stay at two sailings a week each from Portsmouth to Santander and Bilbao, and from Plymouth to Santander. With so few sailings, cabins on summer dates are usually the first thing to go. Compare the options in our guide to ferries to Spain from the UK.

Condor: summer 2027 for the Channel Islands

Condor, now part of Brittany Ferries, has its summer 2027 timetable online. The fast craft Voyager sails Poole to Guernsey and on to Saint-Malo six days a week (not on Wednesdays), leaving Poole at 14:30 in July and reaching Guernsey at 17:30. From Portsmouth, the conventional ship Islander sails to Guernsey every evening, leaving at 19:15 or 20:30 and arriving at 06:00 the next morning.

Since 1 November 2026 that Portsmouth service runs every day, and some return sailings from Guernsey now call at Cherbourg. If your way home goes via Cherbourg, you are leaving and entering the Schengen area, so bring your passport. Where the EES border check takes place differs per port: see our guide to EES at UK ferry ports. Our sister site has the details: Portsmouth to Guernsey now sails every day. For all routes to the islands, see ferries to the Channel Islands.

DFDS: more sailings to Jersey in 2027

DFDS opened 2027 bookings for its Jersey routes in October. According to the Jersey Evening Post, these are the changes for next year:

  • Poole to Jersey starts earlier and sails more. The season begins on 24 March 2027 instead of 1 May, with 130 return rotations against 105 this year. DFDS’s own route page still says April, so check the first sailing date when you book.
  • Twice the pet cabins on Portsmouth to Jersey. The ship on this route, Corbière Seaways (formerly Stena Vinga, renamed after a public competition in Jersey), goes from four to eight pet-friendly cabins from January 2027.
  • The 24-hour fare stays. Where it is available, you can stay a night and come back the next day for the price of a day trip.
  • Early booking discount. DFDS gives 15% off 2027 crossings booked by 1 February 2027; on the Jersey routes it applies to travel from 1 February. See the conditions.

Should you book now?

For the summer school holidays, yes, if you know your dates. Two early-booking deals also have a deadline: Stena Line’s 20% off Harwich to Hook of Holland must be booked by 15 November 2026, and DFDS’s 15% off 2027 by 1 February 2027. The sailings that fill first are those with the least capacity or the most demand: night crossings with a cabin on Portsmouth to Caen, cabins on the Spain routes, and the three weekly Portsmouth to Cherbourg sailings. A flexible fare costs a little more but lets you move the sailing if your plans change. For current offers, see our Brittany Ferries discount codes and DFDS offers.

Sailing patterns checked on 2 November 2026 in the Brittany Ferries and Condor timetables; DFDS changes as reported by the Jersey Evening Post (8 October 2026). Timetables can still change, so always confirm your own date when you book.
