Three crossings, all to Stockholm:
- Helsinki to Stockholm: the direct overnight ship, 16 hours 30 minutes, up to ten sailings a week.
- Turku to Stockholm: about 11 and a half hours via Mariehamn, roughly 5 hours 15 minutes to Åland and 5 and a half hours on to Stockholm, by day or by night.

Turku to Stockholm, if you have the time: the ship threads through the Turku archipelago, stops at Mariehamn and arrives through the Stockholm archipelago, and the day sailing shows you all of it. Helsinki to Stockholm is the practical choice from the capital, an overnight with dinner, a cabin and breakfast on the approach to Stockholm. On both, book a cabin with a window if the archipelago is the point.
