Ferry from Spain to Mallorca
From Spain, you have the most options. Ferries operate on four different routes between the Spanish mainland and Mallorca. Most boats go to the capital, Palma de Mallorca, but you can also travel to Alcudia from Barcelona.
Ferry from France to Mallorca
A ferry service now operates from France to Mallorca, departing from Toulon and arriving in Alcudia. The boat then continues to Menorca. This is an ideal route for those travelling from Northern Europe to reach Mallorca.

From the Spanish mainland, reaching Mallorca takes at least 5 hours and 30 minutes (at least). However, most crossings are longer because you usually sail at night on the way there. It may therefore be better to book a longer ferry ride so that you do not arrive in the middle of the night. On the way back, you sail during the day, and then the fastest ferry is on the way for 5 hours.ย The ferry from France takes approximately 13 hours and 30 minutes.
If you are travelling as a foot passenger you can sail to Mallorca for around โฌ40. Eventually, it will for most people be much more expensive. You often travel by car, you book a cabin and you spend money on meals. The summer is also often more expensive than sailings in the winter. A return for 2 people and a car from Barcelona will therefore certainly be around โฌ300.

When I want to travel from The Netherlands to Mallorca: What's the most ideal route to take and how much would it cost for a family + car? It's not all clear when I read it here.
Also what would be the most ‘early' ferry departure from Marseille?
Thanks!
You can't depart from Marseille. The best route is probably to drive to Toulon and take the car ferry from there, for the other options you have to drive to Barcelona. The earliest departures from Toulon are quite late: At around 17:15 or so. this changes a lot however per day! Your other option if you need more time slots is Barcelona.
