Therefore, it’s a good idea to book your tickets and cabins as early as possible to secure the best price. This also applies if you’re travelling with a car, as the car deck often gets fully booked. Early booking is highly recommended.

The ferries on this route are cruiseferry types, meaning they are equipped with cabins, plenty of entertainment, and various facilities. This is definitely true for this P&O crossing. There is an arcade, cinema, multiple restaurants, a show lounge, a bar with live piano music, shops, a casino, and a children's play area. How far in advance should you arrive?
You need to check in at least 1.5 hours before departure. For a 9:00 p.m. departure, check-in closes at 7:30 p.m., and for an 8:30 p.m. departure, check-in closes at 7:00 p.m. Arriving well in advance is important to ensure a smooth journey, especially on busy days like weekends and during peak season. P&O is quite strict on the British side of the check-in. Once on board, you can enjoy one of the restaurants while you wait.

Luggage and Pets
There are no restrictions on the amount of luggage you can reasonably bring. Pets are allowed on this crossing, but additional costs apply, and pets must stay in the designated kennels on board. For travelling to the Netherlands, pets must meet specific requirements, including certain vaccinations and having a pet passport.
To the Port of Hull
The address of the Hull port is:

From the north, take the M62 to connect with the A63 towards Hull city centre. If you're coming from the south, follow the A15 over the Humber Bridge and merge onto the A63. Then, follow signs for King George Dock, Ferries, and Terminal 1. Parking is available at £10 per 24 hours.

Public Transport
Hull train station is a 10-minute drive from the port. A taxi from the station typically costs around £10.
There is no public transport from the port in Europoort (Netherlands) to Rotterdam. Your best options are either a taxi or the P&O bus transfers to Rotterdam and Amsterdam. You can book this service directly when planning your crossing.
Mini-Cruise
You also have the option to experience this crossing as a mini-cruise. With the mini-cruise, you travel without a car, enjoying a round-trip ferry journey. You’ll have time during the day to explore either Amsterdam or Rotterdam. Adding an extra day is also possible, which is often more affordable since you leave your car at the Hull port.
Things to Keep in Mind in the Netherlands
England is one hour behind the Netherlands, and departure/arrival times are typically communicated in local time.
When you disembark in the Netherlands, remember to drive on the right-hand side of the road and check your headlights' alignment.
P&O Ferries transfer coach to Amsterdam
You can book a bus transfer to Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Book this in advance with P&O! Please note that there is no public transport from and to the terminal.
The bus departs at 08:30 (Mon-Fri) and 09.45 (Sat-Sun). It stops in Amsterdam near the Central Station (De Ruijterkade 151). You will be picked up for your return journey from the same location at 17:00.
It's £15 for this return trip with this transfer coach. Of course, this is included in the mini cruise to Amsterdam.
What is the best alternative for the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam?
This depends on where you live in the UK, but if you're travelling to the Netherlands, the best alternatives to this ferry are either the crossing from Newcastle to Amsterdam or the service between Harwich and Hoek van Holland.
